Most of the bank in Malaysia has the system that if you have an account with one of the bank and there is no transaction for a certain number of years, then they are going to close the account and the money is going to be placed under the unclaimed government fund. That's what it called if I am not mistaken. They said they follow the British banking system.
It happened to me. When I studied in KL, I opened up an account with HSBC. Year 2001 was the last year I did transaction and I still have some money in the account. I didn't close the account since I thought that KL - Medan is quite near and my account will still remain in there. A few years later, when I had chance to go back to KL again, I tried to get the money from the ATM, but I couldn't; instead the machine swallowed my card. I went to find the customer service and they said they are going to help me with that. Yes, they helped me to file in and wrote complaint letter. Since I have not much day left in KL, thus I just contacted them through email.
When I came back, I tried to keep in touch with them. However, there were not much changes. I still didn't know what happened to my account balance. A couple of years later, I visited KL again and went to the HSBC at BukitBintang. Apparently, the officers that handle my case already quit. Me and Mr. waited there for quite a few hours with no results. The only word from them was they will try to help me to go through things and find where is my money right now. I have all my account number, and they couldn't track it as they said it has been deleted from the system.
I thought I have already lost the money. Back in Medan, my in-law has an account in HSBC Medan, so I kinda tried to force the employee in HSBC Medan to contact with those people in KL. Finally after months of processing, they sent my money back. The Maybank sent a bank draft directly to my house. I had to go to BNI and it costs RP 50.000 for the processing fee and it took 1 hour waiting time... Geez.. and I were late for my 10 o'clock class... :(
The good news is, I have my money back.. ^^
My point of sharing is to let you know that you can actually claim your money back if you have similar case...

Kite.. the Traditional Game...??
I still remember when I were small, my uncle loved to bring me out in the open space to play kite. These days, we can only see people playing kites when we were out of town or in the villages. Today kids tend to stay at home and play with the technology devices. Seldom socialize with other kids except in school. Maybe this doesn't apply to every one, but most of the kids in Medan. School, private tuition, if they have free time, then they are going to spend in front of TV.
Last week, it was very windy, and granny introduced Dave to the game that is called kite. Granny bought the kite when they went to China last year. Didn't have chance to play it till that day when it was so windy. It's just behind our home.
Nai2 is helping Dave with the kite...
Nai2's trying to tie the rope on Dave's hand....
Dave is enjoying the kite....
Honestly, he still cannot play... lol....

Boys Play Piano....
In my mind, it's kinda cool for boys or men to play piano. Not necessary piano, but knows how to play instrumental. Well, some people might against it as they scared that they are going to turn out like sissy or like a girl. What do you think...??
I kinda feel that when you play piano, you are listening to the classic songs indirectly. Won't this stimulate the brain? In addition to that, all the fingers nerve will involve in it also; which I heard that it can control someone emotion?
This is how Dave's gonna look like if he's a musician one day... LOL

Toddler Alone in the Car
It was quite an experienced for me. If I picked up Dave from school, normally he will sit beside the driver's seat. Once we reached home and ready to get out from the car, he would love me to go down first and closed the door and picked him up from the door beside the driver's seat. Then he will move to the driver's seat and pretend that he is driving the car. I have been doing this like months and of course with the engine off and the hand brake up.
However, yesterday, the car was sliding down and I couldn't open the door as he locked it up. I were so shocked, and I have to hold the car from sliding down from behind, and luckily there was a three-wheel cycled (becak) man passed by and helped me to hold the car. Then, I quickly open the car's door with the key and pull up the hand brake again. Luckily,
I just realized that he's growing and able to do so many things. He's been observing me driving for quite a while and look at me when I pull up or pull down the hand-brake. Dave is now 27 months and technically he wants to do most of the things by himself. He is also in the phase where he would like to imitate what we do. ^^ He wants to carry me now.... lol...
Just to add on... he's only wear diaper during the bed time and go to the wedding party. The rest of the time, he will tell when he wants to pee or to poo.... He can stay dry for the whole day.... ^^
The reason why we still make him wear diaper when we go to the wedding party is because he cannot seat down for 2 hours, then he will find excuses to go out, and the classic excuse is to pee... ^^

Wedding & Marriage Life
End of the year or beginning of the year is just like the trend of Medan people to get married. For this few months, we attended quite a number of wedding party and most of them were like 'wow'.
During the wedding reception, normally the MC will ask the groom what makes him ready for the marriage. From so many wedding that I have attended, and from so many answers that I have heard. I really think this one is the best. The groom said that marriage is like climbing mountains. It's very risky and it's a tough job. In order to be able to make it up on top, you need to prepare things and use the correct tools. Now, since he has found the bride whom is the correct partner; thus he's ready for the marriage.
In my mind, normally people will get married when they think they have dating for quite a while, or when they are old enough and scared that people will talk bad about them that at certain age still being single, and so on.... They never really think that marriage is not the end... it's the beginning... they prepare for the wedding party and such and such... but they never prepare for the life.. the marriage life...
It was mentioned in a book that Marriage is a suicide... LOL... What do you think...?
Marriage is the unity of two people become one... but the actual problem comes when you are starting to decide which one that you are going to follow... lol...
Great wedding party doesn't mean that the couple is going to have a great marriage life. But again, how do we define great marriage life? In my life, there a few couple that I think and I see as the real soul mate....

Indomie and KFC
Sometimes when we came to creativity, it's quite surprising to find out what other people can think of. Following is the picture of Indomie (instant noodle in Indonesia) "tumpeng". Tumpeng is normally made from yellow sticky rice, which is an Indonesia culture food for celebration.
Just check out the following Indomie "tumpeng" that I captured at Hypermart, Sun Plaza.
Then, we stopped by at KFC for some snacks.. and they have this Christmas tree made up from KFC boxes.... ^^
