Habits

Dave's third teeth is growing now. It's on the upper right front-side. He pooh 2-3 times in a day. Absolutely, he is losing weight. But then he is growing taller.
Now, Dave is about 8 months plus. In the late afternoon after porridge time (around 17.00-18.00), he will look for his grandpa. He doesn't want other people to carry him at this time. Once his grandpa carries him, he will not let other people take over. Why is he looking for his grandpa? Well, his grandpa will bring him to a place that we refer to "bundaran" in our housing area. His grandpa already does this since he was 4 months plus.

Then, at nite time around 7.30. He will look at the stairs (our room is on the 2nd fl.). What does it mean? It means that he is ready to go to bed. He wants to be in the bedroom. When we carry him and walk to the stairs, he feels excited and shows his smiley face. However, when we carry him away from the stairs, he will cry.

From this reaction, I kinda assume that habitual does affect people. Any kind of people, not just infants. Thus, habitual that occurs in our daily life will lead to comfort zone (regardless what people think). Comfort zone for a person might not be the same for other people. This comfort zone might be good or bad.

Is it Possible for a Mother to have Her Career?

When I went home from work yesterday, my mother-in-law informed me that Dave fell down and knocked his head at the back. He cried extremely loud. This is the first time that he got knocked down very hard. Why did he fall down? Apparently his nanny made him sat alone on the floor. He fell down and knocked his head (at the back) on the ceramic. Ouch. She shouldn't do this as Dave is not that steady to sit by himself yet.

Then question arises. Is it possible for a mother to keep her job and to have her career? Or a mother just need to stay at home and look after her children? For me personally, I am not a home person. I can stay at home and look after my kid, but not for the whole time. I feel that when I still have the options, I still prefer to work. Nowadays, most of the mothers are working. Their children are still growing very well...

Educate & Process

Who love to get things instantly? I love to. I believe everyone does. However, there are things in life that we have to go through. This phase is called process. We cannot just hope and pray to get things instantly. Sometimes we will not realize this process word until a certain age. It might take 1 month, 1 year, or even 10 years for a person to understand process. I believe that this process will educate us in one way.

I have been teaching for many semesters. I use different method in each semester. In this semester, I am trying to help my students to pass by doing exercises. From the first day, I always encourage my students to do exercises. If they hand-in, then am going to give them additional marks for the mid-term (total additional marks about 20%). Then for the mid-term, they have to answer some questions (MCQ) that are not covered yet in the class (it's about 10% out of 100%).

Apparently, there are some students who didn't get the answer correctly complaint about this. It makes me think, is that wrong to give only 10% of the questions that are not covered? Then, if they cannot accept this thing, why I have to bother giving them additional marks?

Are today students being to0 pampered? I assume that only Medanese is being so pampered in all kind of situation. What happen if those people work in a MNC (Multi National Company). Can they handle the office politics?

Who you are Today? Luck, Fate, or Choice?

Today is the wedding of Deva's brother and Yindika with Bambang. Both receptions are on this coming Saturday. Thus, I gotta choose either one. Finally, me and Mr. decided to go for Yindika's reception. Since Yindika was my classmate and we used to hang out together and we still do reunion sometimes.

Some couples celebrate their wedding in a very luxurious way and some just celebrate with the ritual tradition. Well, it's true that wedding is once in a life time thing. We want it to be that way, though we can never really predict what is the outcome like. Sometimes I wonder, is that the wealth that influence how they think? Everyone desires to have a fantastic, luxury wedding and honeymoon. For the non-capable couples, they can only dream about that and congrats for those couples who can afford them.

This link to the question that I have been wondering all the time. What makes you today or who you are today, is that determines by your luck, fate, or do we have choice for that?

How Much is a Person Life Worth?

Sometimes it seems like it's very easy for some people to take other people lives. My second cousin was found dead hanging in his friend's house. According to his dad, he was beaten up and already dead before his friends hang him up. I and this cousin haven't talked to each other for quite a while. We were childhood buddies. We used to play around in the yard. When we grown up, I moved to another neighborhood. Then we stop contacted each other.

It's true that I don't know what is he doing outside. Maybe he is a jerk, or maybe he loves to gamble (soccer as it's EURO season). I don't know what he did for sure. But the point is can we just take other people life as simple as that?

Dave's baby walker

It's time for Dave to try on his new baby walker. I always wonder what is the best time for a baby to sit on the baby walker. Some says 4 months and some says when he knows how to sit by himself. Apparently until today, Dave still needs help to sit. In other words, he still cannot sit by himself. However, once we help him to sit, he can manage to sit properly and steadily.

So, I decided to buy a baby walker for him. People say that a baby walker can train his feet strength. He will know how to walk faster (though it's not all good if your child can walk faster). Indeed, by using this baby walker, we don't have to be that tired caring him along. He's heavy and he loves to spin around.

Oh ya, I bought this for Rp 375000 (about US $40 with $1 = Rp9300). There are a few that costs a lot cheaper than this and more expensive. I suggest that if you decided to buy one, don't go for the cheapest. As, baby loves to bang himself (his buttock) to the seat. If it is too cheap, scared that it's not strong enough to hold the baby.

I get this from New Halim. It sells pretty good baby & children stuffs.

There are a few things in front that Dave can play around with and they have sounds.

Dave is experiencing his new toys.
